Helping Those In Need With Equine Therapy At Our Utah Ranch

Our mission at Crossing Arrows Ranch is to provide support to people of all ages that are struggling with their own unique circumstances through horse-based therapy. We provide them with nature-focused experiences that build the skills necessary to face challenges they experience in their lives.

Crossing Arrows Ranch is about creating an accepting non-judgmental environment. We are real people that have experienced our own personal challenges, we do not pretend to be perfect, but we will show you what resilience is. We focus on empowerment and teaching you how to build upon your strengths to face your own challenges.

How Does Equine Therapy Work?

Horses provide feedback and mirror the client’s emotions and body language. Horses are highly sensitive to emotion and movement; this teaches the client to be present and self-aware of their own feelings and builds opportunities for client to discover their inner selves and the energy they are sending out. Horse and client can build a place of mutual trust, understanding, and bonding.

The horse can be used as a bridge between staff and client to build social skills through healthy interaction while client is coached while learning how to groom and care for the therapy horse. Self-efficacy is built by realizing these tasks coupled with riding accomplishments.

Building a healthy relationship with the equine and staff inspires clients to pursue new goals and aspirations. In a healthy relationship trust and respect is learned. Our programs include components of practicing resilience, responsibility, give and take, communication, and finding your own personal power. These skills are all discovered between client and horse and are at the heart of equine therapy.
