Our Mission at Crossing Arrows Ranch

At Crossing Arrows Ranch, we create sacred space for healing, connection, and growth. Through trauma-informed, relationship-based equine therapy, we walk alongside individuals of all ages who are navigating the weight of trauma, loss, anxiety, and adversity.

Grounded in the principles of Natural Lifemanship, we use horse and nature-based experiences to foster regulation, build resilience, and restore dignity. Our work is rooted in relationship—between humans, animals, and the land—and guided by the belief that healing happens when we feel seen, safe, and empowered to rebuild.

We are not here as experts on your life—but as real people who have survived grief, violence, and heartache ourselves. We know what it means to come undone. And we know what it takes to rise. At Crossing Arrows Ranch, you don’t have to be perfect to belong. You just have to show up. We'll meet you there—with compassion, courage, and connection.

How Does Equine Therapy Work?

Horses provide feedback and mirror the client’s emotions and body language. Horses are highly sensitive to emotion and movement; this teaches the client to be present and self-aware of their own feelings and builds opportunities for client to discover their inner selves and the energy they are sending out. Horse and client can build a place of mutual trust, understanding, and bonding.

The horse can be used as a bridge between staff and client to build social skills through healthy interaction while client is coached while learning how to groom and care for the therapy horse. Self-efficacy is built by realizing these tasks coupled with riding accomplishments.

Building a healthy relationship with the equine and staff inspires clients to pursue new goals and aspirations. In a healthy relationship trust and respect is learned. Our programs include components of practicing resilience, responsibility, give and take, communication, and finding your own personal power. These skills are all discovered between client and horse and are at the heart of equine therapy.
