Transformative Equine Therapy through Natural Lifemanship
At Crossing Arrows Ranch, we are dedicated to offering trauma-focused, relationship-centered equine therapy using the Natural Lifemanship approach. Our services are designed to foster healing and personal growth, integrating the expertise of a licensed mental health therapist and a skilled equine professional.
Natural Lifemanship focuses on building healthy, connected relationships, both with ourselves and others. Horses are partners in this process, helping clients develop trust, respect, and co-regulation through meaningful, intentional interactions. Rather than projecting emotions or behaviors onto the horses, clients engage with them to explore their own patterns of relating to themselves and others. These authentic, real-time experiences offer valuable opportunities to practice trust, emotional regulation, and deeper connection, ultimately fostering healthier relationships in all areas of life.
Our equine-assisted therapy is an ideal choice for individuals seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, or relational issues. Sessions are designed to meet the specific needs of each client, providing a powerful alternative to traditional talk therapy. Together, with the guidance of both human and equine professionals, clients experience healing, growth, and deeper connection.
This program includes a mental health therapist and equine assisted professional.
Price: $200 per session-see "sliding scale" under the forms tab for financial assistance if needed.
Equine therapy for Veterans
At Crossing Arrows Ranch we are committed to supporting veterans on their path to healing. We recognize the unique experiences veterans face and the importance of accessible, trauma-informed care. To help with this, we proudly offer 8 free equine therapy sessions to veterans, creating a safe and supportive space for personal growth and recovery.
The Natural Lifemanship Approach
Our therapy is grounded in the Natural Lifemanship approach, which emphasizes the importance of building healthy, connected relationships—both with horses and humans. Rather than using force or control, we focus on developing trust, emotional regulation, and resilience through connection. This method mirrors the complexities of human relationships, making it a powerful tool for processing trauma and healing.
Transition to Sliding Scale
After the 8 free sessions, we offer a sliding scale fee structure to ensure that financial constraints don’t limit ongoing access to therapy. Our goal is to make this process affordable, sustainable, and supportive, no matter the veteran’s financial situation.
How to Get Started
If you or someone you know is a veteran interested in equine therapy, we encourage you to reach out. Together, we’ll embark on a journey of healing and growth, supported by the therapeutic power of the horse-human connection.
Please see "Veterans Application" under the forms tab to apply.
Equine Assisted Personalized Coaching
We all carry habits formed from past experiences that create barriers to the goals we want to reach in our present lives. Our experiences, whether positive or negative, shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. This perception has an impact on our relationships, as well as how we perceive our worth in the world. Working with equine gives us an opportunity to be mindful of our present state and it gives us the beautiful gift of catapulting us into self-reflection. This enables the client to identify thoughts and behaviors that have been holding them back.
The equine specialists will create personalized experiences in the arena that help you maximize your experience and propel your personal goals. The coaching is for children, teens, and adults.
The client will begin to recognize their own personal strengths, and together with the coach will create an action plan on how to apply them in their personal lives. Individualized coaching is $100 w/o sponsorship (please see sliding scale application). This is a 5 week program.
This program is led by our NL Equine Professional.

Center Visits
Our mini horses and staff love visits to assisted living and long-term facilities. We go anywhere that will have us because we love bringing smiles to everyone!
Spending just 15 minutes with an animal can create powerful chemical reactions in the brain. The fight-or-flight hormone cortisol decreases and the feel-good hormone serotonin kicks in. This causes a reduction in blood pressure, heart rate and stress level that can eventually lead to lower cholesterol, heart disease, stroke, and depression risks.
